World War II
My family, like yours, was visited by a huge war that lasted almost 30 years. The entire first half of the 20th century. The conflict, which caught fire in the era of empires, could end in rain from the tears of millions of people. All of humanity has been directly or indirectly affected by very dangerous ideas. I have always been interested in the theme of war, as an opportunity to show through it a person’s love for life. Both of my films tell that a person is called to live, called to create. Murder and destruction is a hellish card in which you won nothing. Those who kill and those who take revenge are guilty. The cycle will stop only forgiveness.
Short Film "Son"
In 2017, my second short film was completed (~ 25 minutes). Also about the period of the Second World War. This time, many of my friends and comrades who made a great contribution to the creation of this film responded to my call. Particularly grateful to Roman and Lola Magarshak.
We shot for a month and mounted in our free time for more than six months. All because of the lack of a budget as such. We made this film exclusively on enthusiasm.
In this film, I took less camera work, was engaged in staging and directing. We wrote ideas and script together with Anastasia Panova.
The film also became participants in domestic and foreign film festivals and gained fame thanks to which I was in Moscow and came into contact with private producers who supported my work in projects about the Great Patriotic War. It was Nikolai Vladimirovich Chuikov, grandson of Marshal Vasily Chuikov - the Winner of Stalingrad and the conqueror of Berlin. It was Chuykov who accepted the surrender of the Germans on May 7. This date is Victory Day in Europe and the United States, because Chuikov also invited one of the top US generals to accept surrender. In general, work on these films gave me a big boost in development. It was on the basis of the achievements deserved in working on projects about the Great Patriotic War that I was able to allocate time for art and return to creative photography. Short Film "Swallow"
In 2016, I almost single-handedly organized the filming of my first short film. This is a real feature film. In many ways, my first movie is a big experiment. Thanks to all those who gave the opportunity to create this work.
The swallow was presented at many festivals in Russia and abroad. It is also free to view in schools.
In this picture, I am both a director and cameraman, editor and sound engineer, director and screenwriter. Thanks again to everyone who starred and helped in the creation.
